Brianna Rose Lengel is an unpublished, unagented picture book author and illustrator. For over two decades, she has worked professionally in various areas of the arts including teaching mural painting to youth in Alameda and Oakland, CA, and screen-printing political posters and tee shirts. For the last 13 years she has worked as a corporate graphic designer for a plaintiffs law firm. In 2004, she graduated from Mills College with a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in oil painting.
Brianna has been a member of SCBWI for 3 years and Storyteller Academy for 5 years, but she wrote the first draft of BLOOM NIGHT 10 years ago when she took a class with Julie Downing. Serendipitously, at age 8, she wrote and illustrated many books thanks to a 3rd grade teacher named Mr. Venable.
Having grown up in Alameda, she now lives in Portland, OR, with her four cats, Tati, Cookie, Ginger, and Foxi, and has a passion for cat rescue.
